0:00Things are going to get worse before they get better. I just see it coming. We're going to talk about what Google is up to. So, Google is coming for all SEOs, all GEOs, all AI websites. It's coming. Here it is. Here's the start of it. Well, not even the start. We'll get into it. But, what this is is the go-to redirect issue. So, Google, instead of showing us the path for any quick you do online, and I'll get into this. I know I'm using a lot of jargon. What they're going to do is basically hide it. And that makes it a total pain in the butt

0:27for people like me and you who make money online. But, we do have a solution. But, I want to talk about the solutions, the issues, the overarching thing here. Let's keep it moving, right? So, Google's coming for you. And when it says abuse, it means control, in my opinion. So, Google is doing this in the name of abuse. It's hiding the URL slug path because it says scrapers are scraping the heck out of the indexes, the searches, right? Okay, I get that.

0:52But, I think I think this is more about control. Now, before we go on, a lot of people have this idea in their head that there's a social contract between Google and everyone else because they think of Google as the internet, but it's not the case. It's not the case. Remember that Google is a for-profit company, and you are the product. It's a free service.

1:11It's not free because you are the product. So, this is the google.com go-to thing. So, on August 26th, Google confirmed it is rewriting the links in its search results. Instead of pointing straight at a website, the clickable result now routes through Google first. Oh my goodness. It's going to route through Google first. Why the heck are they doing this? I think there's many answers to that. So, you have the Google result, and then you have Google server in the middle, and then your website.

1:36So, for a human, nothing really changes. You still land on the same page, but Google is now sitting in the middle of every click. Now, if you haven't met my name is Jessie, I make six figures a month using different AI tactics. I run this community, the Rank Expander Academy, helping others make money with AI. And the whole point of this community here is to find areas in the internet that are largely protected. I'm going to go into this, but largely protected from things like this. We can't be protected by every algorithmic update, but the idea is let's help each

2:04other in this community. There's over 700 people, and right now there's a 7-day free trial if you want to check it out. So, with this Google thing, this is the primary issue. Real links are now hidden, so a scraper before would see something like this. It would see the proper slug path. This is called a slug right here. Right? It knows, okay, that's the page. Now, what it sees is, you know, whatever.com go to URL, and it's basically hidden. It's code. That's a big issue. Why is it a big issue? So, this is on page by Traffic Research.

2:33What the black box SERP breaks for rank trackers, SERP APIs, and your attribution. So, basically, you know, SEOs, people like myself, we need to figure out how our websites rank, what keywords they rank for because then we optimize, we change, we iterate. But what they're saying is rank trackers now need 500 to 1,000 requests to resolve a single keyword's results. That is crazy.

2:57And what that's going to amount for, if you don't figure this out, it's just going to be way more money for you, especially if you use APIs. And here's the visualization. One request before, very easy for scrapers to do this. They would just go on to Google SERPs and be like, okay, that website, that website, and that website rank for the top three, very easy. Now it's going to take 500 to 1,000 requests now. It's crazy. And I think they are protecting the data moat.

3:21So, nowadays, what is the most valuable thing? It's data. Right? AI needs data. Everyone needs data. And Google spends billions crawling and ranking the entire web, then SEO tools and AI companies scrape the result for almost nothing and sell it back. And Google Google hates it. I think, this is just my opinion, but I think Google really doesn't want a middleman. They never want a middleman. That's why AI overview exists. That's why everything exists in Google to keep you on their ecosystem.

3:49And And do think it comes down to control. So, we're going to skip a few of these. Let's just keep it rolling. You can pause the screen if you want to read those. But, one solution is and look, this is pushing you right back to Google, but you could use the Google Search Console. Because you're going to get the data. You're going to see who clicks on what, where the queries are, all these things. But, that's not my preferred method. In fact, I don't use Google Search Console as much as possible. Like, I do not use it, right?

4:15And then, solution number two is your own site's private data set. So, this is the real mote. This is what I like. So, when you run a large network of real sites, like we do, every one of them is a live experiment. You see what ranks where and why across dozens of markets and data that only you have. So, my recommendation, and we have the solution in the community, is that see your websites, especially if you're doing microsites, as little tests, little experiments. You're going to grab data, see what works, and then you're going to iterate. And in practice, this is what

4:44it looks like, a view of Google that cannot be blurred. Because we want control, because other companies want control. You need to be purposeful to realize there is no social contract between you and any provider of data. You need to take it upon yourself to do this. So, sure, Search Console can work for you. I don't like using it right now because it leaves a footprint. But, if you don't care about that, Search Console is good. And then, you have your experiments, and then you can have a data provider in the middle equals your own mote. You slap it all together with

5:13an API and your own dashboard, then you're really cooking with fire. So, if at the end of the day, Google hides the map, right? If they make it harder for me and you, who cares? We have the tools to build our own. You can do it yourself nowadays. Something interesting I came across in the community is this. A lot of people come in here and they ask about this. Do you see this? Google Search Console. They're asking, "Should I hook my website up to Google Search Console?" And our answer is largely no.

5:39Right, no. Because the more and more data that you give to Google and you rely on Google, the worse off, in my opinion, you will be in the long run. And I think if you are serious about making money online, join a community of people who are doing it already, right? Be around people who will elevate you. There's a 7-day free trial on the Rick Expert Academy. It's one of the fastest growing school communities on the entire platform. I hope to see you in there.
